Kioti CK loader Quick Attach recall — KL2610 / KL4020 / KL4030C upgrade kit (2022)
Kioti · 2015–2022 · Published
Kioti issued a mandatory product upgrade in 2022 for KL2610, KL4020, and KL4030C front-end loaders. The quick-attach plate spacing on affected loader serial ranges is incorrect, which can allow implements (buckets, grapples, forks, pallet forks) to detach from the loader during use. The free dealer-installed upgrade adds new QA plate hardware. Affects Kioti CK-series compact tractors equipped with these loaders: CK2610, CK2620, CK3510, CK3520, CK4010, CK4020.
Details
## Affected machines
Kioti CK-series compact tractors equipped with one of three affected front-end loaders:
| Loader | Affected serial range | Compatible tractors |
|---|---|---|
| **KL2610** | `151120001 – 180211286` | CK2610 (24.5 HP, CK10 series) |
| **KL4020** | `160919001 – 170811078` | CK3510, CK4010 (CK10 series) |
| **KL4030C** | US `210701596 – 220121311`, Canada `181101234 – 220120928` | CK2620, CK3520, CK4020 (CK20 series) |
Look up the loader serial number on the loader itself (not the tractor) — it's typically on the loader frame or on a serial plate on one of the lift arms. The tractor serial number alone is not enough to determine recall status; you need the loader's serial.
If your CK-series tractor has a different loader (e.g., aftermarket Westendorf, Bush Hog, etc., or a different KL-series loader outside the ranges above), this recall does not apply.
## Issue
The quick-attach (QA) plate at the end of the loader arms — the plate that mates with skid-steer-pattern implements — has an incorrect dimension on the affected serial ranges. Specifically, the spacing of the implement-locking pins is off, which means the implement can work itself loose and fall off during operation.
Multiple owners on TractorByNet documented implements detaching during routine work — a grapple coming off while moving brush, a bucket detaching, etc. The forum thread for this recall ("Quick Attach Recall", July 2022) includes direct quotes from Kioti dealer letters: *"Mandatory product upgrade ... please contact your selling dealer to schedule the installation of the upgraded Quick Attach parts."*
A separate, earlier recall — described by a 2016 CK3510 owner as a "pin replacement" — appears to have been the first attempt at fixing the same underlying issue. The 2022 upgrade is a more thorough fix involving new plate hardware (per a dealer description: "a couple plates that are added to the existing unit ... a template, and some small metal strips" suggesting drill-and-attach reinforcement).
## What to do
1. Locate the **loader serial number** on the loader frame (not the tractor's serial).
2. Compare against the ranges in the table above.
3. If your loader is in the affected range, **stop using the loader with implements** and contact your authorized Kioti dealer. Operating the bare loader (without an implement that could detach) is generally lower-risk, but the dealer should advise.
4. The dealer will install the upgrade kit free of charge. Kioti reimburses transportation at **$1.50 per mile up to 100 miles round-trip** per the dealer letter. Some dealers may not be aware of the mileage reimbursement; reference the recall letter when scheduling.
5. The fix takes the dealer a relatively short time (per multiple owners) and is described as adding reinforcement plates/strips to the existing QA plate.
## Hazard
Implements detaching from the QA plate during operation can cause:
- Damage to the implement itself, attached hydraulic lines, or the loader arms
- Damage to whatever the implement falls onto (vehicle, structure, equipment)
- Injury to the operator or bystanders if the detached implement is being lifted or carried high

## Library note
This recall affects loaders, not tractors directly. The bulletin attaches to all six CK-series tractor rows in our library because owners with affected loaders are necessarily owners of those tractors. Owners of CK-series tractors with non-KL or out-of-range KL loaders can disregard.
