## Affected machines
About 33,100 **Kawasaki FT730V-EFI** general-purpose engines installed in commercial-grade riding lawn mowers, sold November 2017 through September 2022. This bulletin covers the **Ferris portion** of the recall:
- Ferris IS 700Z ZTR
- Ferris ISX 800Z ZTR
- Ferris ISX 2200Z ZTR
The recall also covers SCAG Tiger Cat II and SCAG V-Ride II mowers with the same Kawasaki engine — those are not in the TractorNuity library.
### Engine identification
"Kawasaki FT730V EFI" is printed on the **engine air filter cover**. The engine model and serial number are on the **engine fan housing**.
### Affected engine model and serial-number range
| Engine model | Specification numbers | Engine serial range |
|---|---|---|
| FT730V | AS41, BS41, CS41, DS41, AS42, BS42, CS42, DS42 | FT730VA00107 – FT730VA66205 |
The recall is **engine-specific**, not mower-specific. The same Ferris model (e.g., IS 700Z) was sold with multiple engine options over the years. Only mowers fitted with a Kawasaki FT730V-EFI engine in the serial range above are affected.
## Issue
The **high-pressure fuel line** can get damaged by contact with the **fuel pump cover** during operation. Vibration and engine cycling cause friction at the contact point, eventually damaging the fuel-line wall. A damaged high-pressure fuel line can leak fuel under pressure into the engine bay, creating a fire hazard.
Reported field incidents at time of recall:
- 4 reports of high-pressure fuel-line leaks
- 1 fire reported
- 0 injuries
## What to do
1. Identify your engine model and serial number from the engine fan housing and air-filter cover.
2. If your engine is in scope, **stop using the mower immediately**.
3. Contact Kawasaki Motors USA at (866) 836-4463 Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. ET to schedule a free repair, or check your local Kawasaki dealer.
4. Kawasaki was contacting all known purchasers directly at the time of recall.
## Hazard
Severity is rated **critical** because of the fire risk. A high-pressure fuel-line failure on a commercial-grade mower can ignite during operation.

## Library notes
This bulletin attaches to **IS 700Z 52, IS 700Z 60, ISX 800 61** (existing library rows) and **ISX 2200Z 61** (added in this migration). The ISX 2200Z line was not previously in the library; per the standing rule, the row is added so this recall can be properly attached.
The SCAG Tiger Cat II and SCAG V-Ride II portion of the recall is NOT covered by this bulletin since SCAG is not currently in the manufacturers table. If a SCAG manufacturer entry is added in the future, a separate bulletin (or attachment expansion) should cover those models.
