## Affected machines This bulletin covers the Husqvarna portion of the recall: - Husqvarna TS142TXD - Husqvarna TS242TXD - Husqvarna TS242XD - Husqvarna Z248F - Husqvarna Z254F The recall is **engine-specific**: only Husqvarna mowers fitted with a Kawasaki MY2023 FR-series engine (FR730V, FR691V, or FR651V) that received a fuel-tube service operation are in scope. The engine model and serial numbers are on the engine fan housing. ### Recalled Kawasaki engine models FR730V, FR691V, FR651V (model year 2023 only). Specific specification numbers and serial-number ranges are published on the Kawasaki product-recall page. ## Issue The **fuel tube could have been damaged due to improper workmanship while removing the fuel tube for repair**. This is a defect that originates not in the original engine assembly but during a prior service or repair operation that involved temporarily removing the fuel tube. A damaged fuel tube can develop a fuel leak, posing fire and burn hazards. The narrow defect window (engines that had specific service operations performed) means the population at risk is relatively small relative to the engine model totals. ## What to do 1. Identify your engine model from the engine fan housing — confirm it is one of the three FR-series MY2023 engines. 2. If your engine is in scope, **stop using the mower immediately**. 3. Contact Husqvarna at (877) 257-6921, or visit https://www.husqvarna.com and click "Product Recall". 4. You may also contact Kawasaki Motors USA directly at (866) 836-4463. ## Related bulletins The same CPSC alert covers Ariens, Gravely, Redmax, and John Deere mowers with the affected Kawasaki engines. - **TNB02600028** covers the John Deere Z330M / Z330R portion. - Ariens, Gravely, and Redmax are not currently in the TractorNuity manufacturers table; if added in the future, sibling bulletins should be created. ## Note: Z248F / Z254F overlap with TNB02600035 The Husqvarna **Z248F** and **Z254F** model names appear in both this bulletin and **TNB02600035** (CPSC 18-095, fuel-line routing). The two recalls cover different defects on different production years: - TNB02600035: MY2017 production (serials 070117C-110717C), Briggs & Stratton engine, fuel-line-tire wear - TNB02600036 (this bulletin): MY2023 production, Kawasaki FR-series engine, fuel-tube service damage Owners of Z248F or Z254F mowers should check both bulletins and use their engine make/model and serial number to determine which (or neither) applies. ## Hazard Severity is rated **critical** because of the fire risk from a fuel leak. ## Source - U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, "Kawasaki Motors USA Recalls Engines Used in Lawn and Garden Equipment Due to Fire and Burn Hazards (Recall Alert)," 2024. - Kawasaki product recall page: https://www.kawasakienginesusa.com/product-recall.html ## Library notes The TS series rows (TS142TXD, TS242TXD, TS242XD) are added in this migration as new rows.
