Details

## Affected machines About 7,100 (combined Husqvarna and Poulan Pro) residential zero-turn riding mowers with a **Briggs & Stratton twin-cylinder engine**, manufactured **July 1 - November 7, 2017**. The Poulan Pro mower is sold in yellow/black. "Poulan Pro" is printed on the front of the mower. The model number and serial number are printed on the **left-hand rail frame in front of the left rear drive wheel**. ### Affected Poulan Pro model | Model number | Model name | Serial range | |---|---|---| | 967331001 | P54ZX | 070117C001001 – 110717C999999 | The serial-number prefix encodes the production date: `070117` = July 1, 2017; `110717` = November 7, 2017. Mowers built outside this window are not in scope. The Husqvarna portion of the recall (Z242F, Z246, Z246i, Z248F, Z254, Z254F) is covered by sibling bulletin **TNB02600035**. ## Issue The fuel line may have been routed in **close proximity to the right rear tire**. During normal operation, the rotating tire can rub against the fuel line, eventually wearing through the line wall. A worn or perforated fuel line can leak fuel, and fuel near a hot engine creates a fire hazard. This was a **Fast Track recall** initiated voluntarily by Husqvarna (Poulan Pro's parent) — no field incidents or injuries had been reported when the recall was issued. The defect was identified through engineering review of fuel-line routing. ## What to do 1. Check your model and serial number against the table above. The serial range is narrow — only mowers built between July 1 and November 7, 2017 are in scope. 2. If your mower is in scope, **stop using it immediately**. 3. Contact Husqvarna at (877) 257-6921 Monday-Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. ET (Husqvarna handles Poulan Pro recall service). 4. Email recalls@husqvarna.com, or visit https://www.husqvarna.com and click "Product Recall". 5. Husqvarna provides a free inspection and repair through your local servicing dealer. Use the Dealer Locator on husqvarna.com to find one — do not return the mower to the retailer where you purchased it. ## Hazard Severity is rated **critical** because of the fire risk. Although no incidents had been reported at recall time, fuel line wear from tire contact is a progressive failure mode that can develop without warning during normal use. ## Related bulletins The Husqvarna portion of this same recall is covered by **TNB02600035** (Z242F / Z246 / Z246i / Z248F / Z254 / Z254F). ## Source - U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, recall 18-095, "Husqvarna Recalls Residential Zero Turn Riding Mowers Due to Fire Hazard," February 8, 2018. - Husqvarna recall FAQ (also covers Poulan Pro): https://husqvarna.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1263 - Sold at Badcock & More, Lowe's, other home centers and hardware stores nationwide (and online at Badcock.com, Lowes.com, etc.) from July 2017 through December 2017 for between $2,500 and $3,000. ## Library notes The P54ZX row is added in this same migration as a 'PXT Zero-Turn Series' row in the zero-turn-mower category.
