Details

## Affected machines About **41,500 combined units** (Polaris / Ariens-Gravely / Bobcat across both recalls) of Polaris-built UTVs distributed under multiple brands. This bulletin covers the **Bobcat-distributed** portion specifically — the **gas** variants of UV34 and UV34 XL only. Diesel variants are not in scope. ### Affected Bobcat models | Model | CPSC 2021 (drive belt / fuel line) | CPSC 2023 (fuel pump connector) | |---|---|---| | UV34 4x4 Gas | MY2020-2021 | MY2021, MY2022 | | UV34 XL Gas | MY2020 | MY2021, MY2022-2023 | The Bobcat UV34 vehicles have the **Bobcat logo on the front grille**. Sister Polaris RANGER, Polaris Pro XD, and Ariens-Gravely Atlas JSV vehicles share the same Polaris-built platform and have parallel recalls — owners of those siblings should consult Polaris / Gravely directly. ## Issue: two related defects on the same population This bulletin covers **two distinct fuel-system defects** that affected the same UV34 production population. Owners affected by either should address both at the same Bobcat dealer visit. ### Defect 1 — Drive belt break damaging clutch cover and fuel line (CPSC March 2021) The **drive belt can break during operation** and damage the **inner clutch cover assembly and fuel line**, which can result in a fuel leak. Fuel leaking near hot engine components creates a fire hazard. Reported field incidents at recall time: - 3 reports of drive-belt failure resulting in damaged fuel line - 2 reports of fire (no property damage other than to the vehicle itself) - 0 injuries Polaris developed a **bracket that attaches to the clutch outlet duct** to protect the fuel line in the event of a drive-belt break. The remedy is installation of this bracket plus inspection of the existing fuel line for damage. Recall scope: ~41,500 combined units (Polaris RANGER 1000 / RANGER CREW 1000 MY2020-2021, Polaris ProXD 2000G / 4000G MY2020, **Bobcat UV34 4x4 Gas / UV34 XL Gas MY2020-2021**, Ariens/Gravely JSV3200, JSV3400, JSV6400 MY2020-2021). ### Defect 2 — Fuel pump outlet connector leak (CPSC 2023) The **fuel pump outlet connector on the fuel tank** can develop a fuel leak due to a supplier manufacturing-process defect. The leak area is in close proximity to a potential ignition source, posing a fire hazard. Reported field incidents at recall time: - 3 fuel leaks identified - 0 fires - 0 injuries - 0 property damage Recall scope: ~12,300 combined units (Polaris RANGER 1000 / 1000 Crew / XP 1000 / XP 1000 Crew, Polaris RZR Pro XP, Polaris Pro XD Full-Size Gas, **Bobcat UV34 Gas (MY2021, MY2022) and UV34 XL Gas (MY2021, MY2022-2023)**, Gravely Atlas JSV 3400 / 6400 MY2021/2023). The recall also covers **service parts**: Fuel Pump Kits with part number 2208123 sold by Polaris, Fuel Pump Kits with part number 7396260 sold by Bobcat, and Fuel Tank Assemblies with part numbers 2521943, 2522060, 2522267 sold by Polaris. If a UV34 Gas had its fuel pump or fuel tank replaced with any of these part numbers, that unit is also in scope regardless of model year. Some MY2021 UV34 Gas units were **previously recalled** under CPSC 2021 (Defect 1 above). Those units may now be in scope for additional repair under the 2023 recall. ## What to do 1. Locate the **VIN** on your UV34 or UV34 XL. 2. Check your VIN against both recalls: - Bobcat recall page: https://www.bobcat.com/na/en/safety/recalls (or call Bobcat at 800-743-4340) - Polaris VIN-lookup tool: https://www.polaris.com/en-us/off-road-recalls/ (or call Polaris at 800-765-2747) 3. If your UV34 is in scope for either recall, **stop using it immediately** and store outdoors away from structures. 4. Contact an authorized Bobcat dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair. Bobcat was contacting registered owners directly at recall time. ## Hazard Severity is rated **critical** because of the fire risk from fuel leakage on a hot engine. Defect 1 had already produced 2 fires at recall time; Defect 2 was caught before any fires were reported. ## Related bulletins - **TNB02600069** — CPSC 2020 Bobcat UV34 / UV34 XL clutch crash hazard. Same Polaris-built platform, partially overlapping SKU population, distinct defect family (crash, not fire). - **TNB02600067** — CPSC 2018 Gravely Atlas JSV 3000/6000 cracked exhaust headers.
