Voluntary recall of John Deere X700 Signature Series lawn and garden tractors whose Reverse Implement Option (RIO) safety system can fail. RIO is intended to shut off power to the mower blades when the tractor is shifted into reverse; failure means blades may continue spinning, posing a laceration hazard to bystanders.

## Affected machines

This recall covers John Deere X700 Signature Series models X710, X730, X734, X738, and X739 with serial numbers beginning with 1M0X. A complete list of serial numbers is available from John Deere at https://www.deere.com/en/parts-and-service/recall-information/.

The tractors are green and yellow with yellow rims; the model name is printed on the engine hood.

## Hazard

The Reverse Implement Option (RIO) system, which shuts off power to the mower blades when the machine is placed into reverse, can fail. Blades may continue to spin in reverse, posing a laceration hazard to bystanders.

## Remedy

Stop using the recalled tractor immediately. Contact a John Deere dealer for a free repair.
