CPSC recall: model year 2021-2022 Yamaha Drive2 Electric Fleet golf cars may have a passenger-side brake cable that was misrouted during assembly, causing abnormal wear that can break the cable during use and pose a crash hazard. Remedy is free dealer inspection and cable replacement if misrouted.

CPSC recall (2026) covering model year 2021-2022 Yamaha Drive2 Electric Fleet golf cars.
HAZARD: The passenger-side brake cable could have been misrouted during assembly. A misrouted cable can experience abnormal wear and break during use, posing a risk of serious injury or death from a crash.
AFFECTED: MY2021-2022 Drive2 Electric Fleet (48V DC motor fleet configuration). The serial number is located underneath the seat on the frame.
REMEDY: Stop using the vehicle immediately and contact an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer for a free inspection of the passenger-side brake cable routing; if misrouted, the dealer replaces the cable with a properly routed one. Mobile service available.
