Yamaha UMAX Bistro and Bistro Deluxe (MY2019-2025) inaccurate weight capacity label overloading hazard

CPSC recall 26-556 (June 11, 2026): model year 2019-2025 Yamaha UMAX Bistro and Bistro Deluxe food and merchandise service vehicles carry an inaccurate weight capacity certification label, which could result in the vehicle being overloaded and poses an injury hazard. About 1,101 units in the US plus about 75 in Canada. Remedy is a free replacement label installed by an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer.

CPSC recall 26-556, announced June 11, 2026. About 1,101 units sold in the United States; about 75 additional units sold in Canada. No injuries reported at the time of the recall. HAZARD: The recalled Bistro and Bistro Deluxe vehicles have an inaccurate weight capacity certification label. Relying on the incorrect label could result in the vehicle being overloaded, which poses an injury hazard. AFFECTED: Model year 2019-2025 UMAX Bistro and UMAX Bistro Deluxe food and merchandise service vehicles, sold in white, green, red, teal, and brown. Gas and electric drivetrains are included; electric models carry primary ID J5D (YUM2E) with serial numbers 0000116 through 0000230. The serial number is located under the rear cargo area, on the frame of the unit. Yamaha is written on the sides and on the front and back of the vehicle. REMEDY: Immediately stop using the recalled vehicle and contact an authorized Yamaha Golf Car dealer to schedule a free replacement of the weight capacity certification label. Until the corrected label is installed, do not load the vehicle based on the existing label.
