DR Power walk-behind and tow-behind leaf vacuums material ejection laceration hazard (CPSC 26-166, expanded recall with new remedy)

CPSC recall 26-166 (January 8, 2026): DR Power Equipment reannounced and expanded its May 2024 leaf vacuum recall. Pieces can come loose inside the unit, or debris can pierce the chute, ejecting material and posing a laceration hazard to users and bystanders. About 60,250 units in the US plus about 1,023 in Canada; 46 reports of ejected pieces, no injuries. New remedy is a free bolt-on metal outer shield repair kit. Consumers who responded to the original 2024 recall should contact DR Power again for the new remedy.

CPSC recall 26-166, announced January 8, 2026. This reannounces and expands the May 2024 recall of 57,200 units; new leaf vacuum models were added. About 60,250 units in the United States plus about 1,023 in Canada. The firm received 46 reports of loose pieces being ejected from the units; no injuries reported. Manufactured by Generac Power Systems; distributed by DR Power Equipment. Fast Track recall, conducted jointly with Health Canada.
HAZARD: Pieces from the recalled leaf vacuums can come loose inside the unit, or debris can pierce the chute, resulting in material ejecting and posing a laceration hazard to users and bystanders.
AFFECTED: DR Power walk-behind and tow-behind leaf vacuums sold at independent power equipment stores nationwide and at drpower.com from September 2014 through June 2025. Walk-behind models: WL33006 and WL33106 variants (DMN/DMNR) and WL35008 and WL35108 variants (DEN/DENR/DENSD/DMN/DMNR/DMNSD). Tow-behind models: LL2-series (LL21009, LL23009, LL25013, LL27016 variants), LL3-series (LL31027, LL31127, LL33032, LL33132, LL35045, LL35145, LL37045, LL37060, LL37145, LL37160 variants), and legacy LLVX-series units (LLVX9/X9, LLVX13, LLVX16 variants; data tags may print these with or without spaces). DR is printed on the motor housing; the walk-behind model number is on the front right side behind the wheel, the tow-behind model number is on the impeller housing beside the engine.
REMEDY: Immediately stop using the recalled leaf vacuum and contact DR Power for a free repair kit consisting of a metal outer shield that bolts onto the existing chute, with installation instructions. DR Power can assist with the repair. IMPORTANT: consumers who already responded to the original May 2024 recall should nevertheless contact DR Power again for this new remedy.
